COVID-19 cases are rising once again in Juneau and there have been increases in the number of cases in schools after some recent large events. Remember that we still have mitigation protocols and strategies that can help us reduce the spread of illness. Please consider wearing a mask when attending large end of year indoor gatherings when distancing is not possible. Stay home if you have symptoms of illness or if you have tested positive for COVID-19.
Students have one week of school left filled with important events. Preventing the spread of COVID-19 will help to make sure they can participate with their classmates, teammates, friends and families. Individuals who test positive need to isolate themselves for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or after a positive COVID-19 test. It is also required to wear a mask for days 6-10 around others and not travel until 10 days after symptoms started or positive test was taken. Avoid being around people who are at high risk. Individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19 should wear a mask for 10 days to prevent unknowingly spreading illness to others.
Unvaccinated students are able to participate in sports through weekly Covid-19 screening. Testing takes place every Tuesday in the commons from 7:30-9:15am. Please fill out the prerequisite Release of Information before scheduling each appointment HERE. Visit our athletics section (under ‘school info’) for more detailed information.
