What is BAM!?

BAM Afterschool is a program of the Zach Gordon Youth Center in collaboration with the Juneau School District, community partners, and volunteers to provide free afterschool activities for Juneau middle school students. We believe all youth deserve free & fun afterschool activities led by positive, healthy mentors. In addition to school-sponsored activities, BAM (Body & Mind) Afterschool Activities, offers a diverse selection of volunteer-led activities throughout the year, ranging from cooking, to archery, to babysitter training and more. All Activities are free for all students and take place after school from 3:05 PM - 4:25 PM. COVID mitigations are in place to ensure the safety of participants and volunteers. Activity busses are available to bring students home afterwards.

BAM is always looking for new volunteers to lead programs. If you are interested in working with middle school students, please get in touch and we will help you coordinate an activity.
